Articulation Fixation Perseverative Speech
Definition
Perseveration in nonfluent aphasia and frontal–basal-ganglia damage — the expressive loop involuntarily re-firing on already-expressed content. An overdriven, disinhibited V-row set. Distinct from anxious overformulation where the repetition is an anxiety-maintained ritual the speaker performs; here it is an involuntary motor-linguistic re-firing with no anxious goal behind it.
