Attunement Freeze Mentalizing Drop

Definition

Emotional runs above range while Focus independently drops below it, so arousal is loud and the read on it goes blank — high feeling with no workable account of what is happening. Across the mentalizing presentations, where controlled reflection on one's own feeling drops away under emotional or attachment arousal, and the biosocial presentations, where constitutionally amplified emotional vulnerability sensitized further by a chronically invalidating environment floods the affective channel until discernment freezes, the grid reads the same; what differs is only whether the reflective stance is temporarily unavailable or the flood is the sensitized baseline the person lives at. FM is an inhibited target where controlled cognitive reflection drops with it. Distinct from Trigger Blank by the absence of trauma reactivation as the trigger and the presence of an interpersonal-sensitivity context, and from Overwhelm Shutdown by affect flooding rather than sensory load closing the system down.
