Belonging Withdrawal Prolonged Retreat

cascade-variant.belonging-withdrawal-prolonged-retreatclinical register

Definition

Hikikomori-like prolonged social withdrawal is a Japanese-origin phenomenon now described internationally. This subtype requires objective, sustained disengagement from social participation with relational membership still available; family accommodation may occur but is not defining. It differs from mood-driven withdrawal by the central societal retreat, from Subjective Aloneness by observable prolonged isolation, and from Walled Aloneness by keeping the relational field available while Bond disengages.
