Definition

Outward direction cannot reach the relational ground it would direct toward, and the relational field thins to nothing — no one to reach toward, and no acting to direct outward if there were. The Relational column drops as Focus, Bond, and Open lose their ground, while Move closes into Emotional and Mental as outward direction thins for feeling and thought. This is a sustained, patterned reduction of expressive reach rather than a momentary seizing — collapse, not freeze. Across anxious-avoidance and bereavement-withdrawal presentations the grid is the same; what differs is whether avoidance or bereavement holds the channel shut, or whether it eases as state lifts.
