Communion Withdrawal Faith Distancing
Definition
Religious and spiritual struggle — after injury or betrayal, the bond to the sacred pulls back defensively, guarding against hurt while presence stays on offer, often with anger and distancing from the faith community. Distinct from mild aridity and the dark night of the spirit, non-defensive fades where the person keeps yearning toward a presence gone quiet: here the disengagement is protective and injury-driven, a self-guarding rupture, not a trusting wait.
