Identification Spin Grandiose Self

cascade-variant.identification-spin-grandiose-selfclinical register

Definition

Narcissistic grandiose false-self — a stable-inflated self-construct substitutes over identity diffusion, the pole both siblings name but neither covers. Differs from Borrowed Self, whose imported content fluctuates with the current attachment figure, by holding a fixed inflated construct independent of any one tie; differs from Theatrical Display, which performs affect for an audience to cover the absence, by erecting a grandiose self that is believed rather than staged. Distinct from its flood sibling (Identification Flood grandiose-self), where identity, ideation, and affect are co-saturated with self-aggrandizement; here a fixed inflated construct props an otherwise empty/diffuse identity domain.
