Intimacy Fixation Signal Magnification
Definition
Signal magnification within an intact mutual relationship: an ordinary check-in, pause, or expression of concern lands with more emotional, interpretive, or personal significance than the exchange carries, and attention stays with the cue after it has been understood. The relationship remains reciprocal and neither person loses an equal place. Pursuit, separation distress, grief, limerence, fantasy, or ordinary enthusiasm does not establish this presentation.
