Definition

A display presentation fits only when speech, gesture, or behavior is excessive and felt emotion is independently flat. Theatrical style, rapidly shifting emotion, shallow expression, or a personality diagnosis does not prove E-, and audience awareness does not prove V+. Interpersonal display describes where the mismatch appears; the coordinate still rests on the two observed poles.
