Regard Collapse Attachment Trigger
Definition
Disorganized-attachment dissociative collapse of mentalization, mechanistically distinct from hypermentalizing (Hollow Signal) by failure rather than over-attribution, and from Mind Blanks by mechanism rather than trigger: both fail under attachment activation, but here the collapse is dissociative — a compartmentalized shutdown traceable to caregiving experienced as frightening — where Mind Blanks is the non-dissociative mentalizing failure. Developmental origin in frightened/frightening parenting.
