Vision Freeze Insight Stage
Definition
Vipassana dukkha-ñāna freeze: a stage-normative F-/S+ pattern during the bhaya, ādīnava, and nibbidā knowledges of insight-progress, where suffering-knowledge becomes spiritually high-amplitude while attention fragments before integration. Distinct from acedia in Vision Collapse by active practice and loud content, and from spiritual-emergency Numinous Overwhelm by its methodological frame and dukkha-specific content rather than by an absence of saturation. The Theravāda insight-stage literature and contemporary contemplative-stages research establish the stage-specific phenomenology requiring stage-aware intervention rather than burnout or depression treatment.
