Definition

One Open capacity is centered, the other under-active. The centered endpoint remains calibrated and able to receive, while the under-active endpoint is narrowed or closed relative to the shared field. The pair is asymmetrical in receptive capacity; it does not require that one side take everything in, that the other admit nothing, or that any exchange has actually occurred.
