Articulation Depletion Content Poverty
Definition
Move remains centered while usable thought is sparse, so speech or writing may be structurally intact but brief or poor in developed content. Negative-symptom alogia, depressive thought poverty, and contemplative aridity — the barren stretches of sustained practice in which no fresh insight forms — can each resemble this bounded presentation when reduced thought, rather than a language-motor failure, accounts for the low yield. This differs from a speech block, where thought may remain available while expression is inhibited.
