cascade-variant
Embrace Flood Systemic Merger
Definition
This variant is reserved for recurrent affective merger reinforced by family interaction patterns, not closeness or shared distress alone. Its systemic locus distinguishes it from an individual's absorbed-affect presentation, while the absence of a specifically assessed abandonment-rage cycle distinguishes it from Merge Rage. Bowen and Minuchin provide family-systems lenses; neither source establishes the Icosa coordinate by itself.
